Welcome to the Appalachian Region
Bringing Pathfinder and Starfinder Society Organized Play to six states across the Southeast

Who We Are
The Appalachian Region is home to 29 active Pathfinder and Starfinder Society lodges spanning Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. We’re a network of dedicated volunteer Venture-Officers working together under the Organized Play Foundation to bring amazing tabletop RPG experiences to our communities. Learn more about all of Paizo’s Organized Play regions at paizo.com/organizedplay/regions.
We are volunteers. Every Venture-Officer, from Regional Venture-Coordinators to local Venture-Captains, Venture-Lieutenants, and Venture-Agents, donates their time out of pure passion for these games and the communities they serve. We aren’t paid—we do this because we love Pathfinder and Starfinder, and we want to share that love with others.
Whether you’re in the mountains of Asheville, the cities of Atlanta or Richmond, or anywhere in between—there’s a lodge near you ready to welcome you to the table. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many lodges adapted by offering virtual games when in-person play wasn’t possible, and several continue to maintain these virtual options for players unable to attend in-person sessions.

What is Organized Play?
Pathfinder Society and Starfinder Society are worldwide organized play campaigns where your character adventures across multiple tables, cities, and even states. Your choices matter, your character grows, and the stories you create at your local lodge connect to a larger narrative shared by players around the globe.
In organized play:
- Your character is yours – Create a character once, play them anywhere organized play is offered
- Every game counts – Earn experience, treasure, Achievement Points, boons, and (in Pathfinder Society) reputation that carries from session to session. Achievement Points can be spent on Paizo’s website to unlock character options that may otherwise be restricted. Boons are special rewards on your chronicle sheets that provide unique benefits for your character
- Drop in anytime – No long-term commitment required; play when your schedule allows
- Welcoming to all – New to RPGs? Never played Pathfinder or Starfinder? Our GMs are here to help!

Safe, Welcoming Tables for All
Everyone is welcome at our tables. Pathfinder and Starfinder Society organized play is committed to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive gaming environment for all participants. Whether you’re a veteran player, a first-time gamer, young or old, regardless of background, identity, or experience level—there’s a seat at our table for you.
All Pathfinder and Starfinder Society games operate under the Paizo Organized Play Code of Conduct and Community Standards. We expect all participants—players and GMs alike—to treat each other with respect and work together to create positive, memorable gaming experiences.
We do not tolerate: harassment, discrimination, intimidation, unwelcome contact, or behavior that makes anyone feel excluded or threatened. Inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to, harassment or discrimination based on age, disability, ethnicity, gender or gender expression/identity, race, religion, sexuality, or any other reason.
If you experience or witness problematic behavior: Please bring it to the attention of the GM, Event Organizer, or any Venture-Officer. You can also contact your local lodge leadership, the Regional Venture-Coordinator (RVCAppaRegionOP@gmail.com), or report directly to Paizo at organizedplay@paizo.com. Your concerns will be taken seriously and addressed promptly.
Our commitment: These standards apply at every organized play table. We strive to resolve issues at the table level when appropriate, but we will not hesitate to remove anyone whose behavior violates our community standards. Gaming should be fun and welcoming for everyone—that’s the foundation of organized play.
