🏔️ Appalachian Region Weekly Update
Week of September 27 – October 3, 2026
Greetings, Pathfinders and Starfinders! Tables are running in every corner of the six-state Appalachian Region (Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia) this week. Below you’ll find the regional rundown, plus the state-by-state schedule.
📢 Where Things Stand After Monday’s Blog
Paizo published its Organized Play Infinite Sanctioning & Announcements blog on Monday, September 21st. Here’s the short version:
- Pathfinder Society is not ending. Monthly PFS2 scenario releases wrap up after #8-07: In the Halls of Dead Justice and #8-08: Treatise on the Study of Clockwork, both releasing October 7.
- Regular PFS content going forward will come from the new Paizo Printables adventure line, alongside fan-created content sanctioned through Pathfinder Infinite, which opened for submissions the same day.
- Starfinder Society is unaffected and continues its normal monthly scenario schedule.
We know Venture Officers across the region have questions we can’t fully answer yet — Infinite’s authoring guidelines are still being finalized. We’ll pass along solid information as it firms up rather than speculate ahead of it. What’s certain: this community, in every lodge across all six states, isn’t going anywhere.
Separately, Paizo also announced a small pricing update taking effect October 1st on a limited selection of books. Most of the catalog, including Adventure Paths, is unaffected.
🎨 LUGCon Is THIS Week — October 1–4!
Gas South Convention Center, Duluth, GA. LUGCon kicks off Thursday. Steve H is the only volunteer we have this year, so AtlantaPFS will have a token presence rather than a full table setup — if you’re at the con, stop by and say hi to him!
🎃 Nightmare Weekend Raleigh — October 10–11
Paizo staff will be at Nightmare Weekend Raleigh (presented by GalaxyCon), showcasing 13 Omens and other upcoming releases. Get tickets at galaxycon.com.
🎭 Regional Social Event: Rocky Horror Picture Show — Halloween Night
Saturday, October 31 — The Plaza Theatre, Atlanta, GA. The AtlantaPFS lodge is hosting this Halloween outing, open to the wider region — costumes and audience participation strongly encouraged. Get tickets here.

🎯 Looking Ahead
The region is back to a full schedule of regular lodge play across all six states, with a lighter overall table count this week compared to last. The headline story is still Monday’s Paizo announcement about the future of Pathfinder Society scenario publishing — but remember, Starfinder Society continues unaffected, and the final two monthly PFS scenarios drop October 7. Coming up: LUGCon (Oct 1–4), Nightmare Weekend Raleigh (Oct 10–11), AVL ScareFest (Oct 16–18), and PAX Unplugged (Dec 4–6). Officer coverage remains our biggest need — Chattanooga and Charleston, WV are critical opportunities.
