Greetings, Pathfinders and Starfinders! Welcome to another week of organized play across the Appalachian Region.
This week: MomoCon wraps up Sunday — AtlantaPFS finishes out the convention floor at the Georgia World Congress Center through May 24. Con Carolinas and 1d4Con both open this Friday, May 29–31, giving the region back-to-back convention weekends. We continue our push for DragonCon volunteers and have ongoing recruiting needs for Venture-Officers in Chattanooga, TN and Charleston, WV. The Morgantown, WV lodge continues its restart ahead of regular Society play launching in June. And we have 21 scheduled games across the region this week, spread across Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia — physical and virtual.

🎪 MomoCon Wraps Up – Thank You, AtlantaPFS
MomoCon 2026: May 21–24 – Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA
MomoCon concludes Sunday, May 24. If you made it out to the Georgia World Congress Center this weekend, thank you to everyone who played, GMed, and helped run the convention floor. A big thank you to the AtlantaPFS team for organizing another great showing.

🎲 Con Carolinas and 1d4Con — Both This Weekend
Con Carolinas: May 29–31 — Hilton Charlotte University Place, Charlotte, NC
1d4Con: May 29–31 — Holiday Inn Martinsburg, Martinsburg, WV
Two conventions open this Friday. The Piedmont Roleplaying Society will be running Pathfinder and Starfinder Society games at Con Carolinas in Charlotte. Con Carolinas is also an opportunity to grow the organized play presence in Charlotte, a metro area with room to support more regular play.
Organized play at 1d4Con in Martinsburg is being coordinated by the Frederick, MD lodge (Northeast Region). If you are in the Eastern Panhandle area, this is a great opportunity to get some Society play in close to home.

🎉 Morgantown, WV – Lodge Restart Underway
The Morgantown lodge reopening is in progress. Learn to Play sessions are running through May, with regular Pathfinder and Starfinder Society play launching in June at Wyvern’s Rest.

📍 Venture-Officer Openings – Chattanooga, TN and Charleston, WV
Two VO recruitment needs remain open and active:
Chattanooga, TN: The Venture-Lieutenant overseeing the Chattanooga lodge has stepped down. The lodge has an existing player community and needs new leadership to help keep games running and the community connected. If you are local and interested — or know someone who is — please reach out.
Charleston, WV: We are working to establish a new lodge in Charleston. With the Morgantown lodge only just restarting and the distance between the two cities, a PFS/SFS presence at CharCon (July 10–12) this year is unlikely — but that makes recruiting in Charleston all the more important. A lodge with local roots is what makes sustained convention support possible going forward. If you are local and interested — or know someone who is — please reach out.

🎯 Lodges That Need Players and GMs
Several lodges across the region would benefit significantly from more regular player and GM turnout:
- Mebane, NC – Tables are running but need more consistent attendance and GM support.
- Charlotte, NC – A major metro with room to grow its organized play presence. Con Carolinas (this weekend, May 29–31) is a great entry point.
- Memphis, TN – Western Tennessee needs both players and GMs to keep Society play visible in the area.
- Nashville, TN – Strong potential; more regular GM support would allow the schedule to grow.
You do not have to be a Venture-Officer to make a difference. Showing up regularly as a player, stepping behind the GM screen occasionally, and helping welcome new faces is the foundation everything else is built on. 🐉 DragonCon 2026 – GM and HQ Volunteer Recruiting
DragonCon 2026: September 3–7, 2026 – AmericasMart Building 3, Atlanta, GA
DragonCon is the Premier Paizo Organized Play event in the Appalachian Region. Five days, thousands of attendees, and one of the biggest opportunities in the region to showcase Pathfinder and Starfinder Society. The scope of what we can offer — number of tables, variety of systems, special events — depends directly on how many GMs and HQ/operations volunteers commit early.
Why volunteer at DragonCon:
- Early volunteers get first pick of time slots.
- Every table you run may be a player’s first Society experience — they are coming from all over the region and beyond.
- HQ/ops staff keep the whole operation running: check-in, slot coordination, GM support.
- You will be part of a well-coordinated regional team with experienced convention leadership.

📚 Free RPG Day – June 27, 2026

Free RPG Day is an annual event where participating stores offer free roleplaying game products and often host special events. Important: stores must order kits in advance — if your FLGS does not appear on the store locator, they are not a participating venue this year. Check the locator now if you are planning around it. Free RPG Day content may only be run on the day itself at a participating venue, or one month later once it clears for general use.

With the Morgantown lodge only just coming back online and the distance between Morgantown and Charleston, a PFS/SFS presence at CharCon this year is unlikely. This is precisely why recruiting locally in Charleston is such a priority — a lodge rooted in the Charleston area is what makes long-term convention support possible. 🎲 Gen Con – Indianapolis, IN

Gen Con is one of the largest tabletop gaming conventions in the world and a major event on the national organized play calendar. If you are attending, keep an eye on the Paizo and organized play channels for details on Society events and Paizo’s presence at the show.

A mix of board games, pinball, classic arcade machines, and tabletop RPGs under one roof. AtlantaPFS is planning organized play support; a call for GMs and HQ volunteers is expected soon as the schedule is finalized.

🎯 Looking Ahead
Con Carolinas and 1d4Con are this weekend. Free RPG Day is June 27 — check the store locator now if you are planning around it. CharCon is July 10–12 and needs Charleston-area support to make it happen. Gen Con and Southern-Fried Gaming Expo both land at the end of July. DragonCon recruiting is open. Morgantown’s restart continues into June. And several lodges across the region need players and GMs to show up and keep tables firing.
