Call for GMs and HQ Volunteers – Spring & Summer 2026 Events

The Appalachian Region Organized Play team is recruiting Game Masters (GMs) and HQ/organizational volunteers for several upcoming events across our footprint. If you enjoy helping players find great games, teaching new folks, or keeping a convention running smoothly, we would love to have you on the team.

Below are the events we are focusing on right now.

Fun K‑Town – Knoxville, TN

Dates: April 24–26, 2026

Fun K‑Town turns the Knoxville Convention Center into a board‑gaming paradise for three days each April, with a huge library of games, friendly hosts, and plenty of space for people to discover something new. We are looking for GMs and volunteers to help showcase Paizo Organized Play and bring more RPG tables to this board‑game‑heavy weekend.

If you are interested in helping at Fun K‑Town, please reach out to the East Tennessee VOs or contact the Appalachian RVC.

Keep‑A‑Con – Nashville / Hermitage, TN

Dates: April 24–26, 2026
Location: The Game Keep, 3952 Lebanon Pike, Hermitage, TN 37076
Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/172284679509931
Warhorn: https://warhorn.net/events/keep-a-con-2026/schedule/2026/04

Keep‑A‑Con is a charity D&D and Pathfinder convention benefitting St. Jude, with three days of D&D, Pathfinder 2E, DCC, and more. Entry fees are low, walk‑ins are welcome, and there are lots of prizes and giveaways—this is a high‑energy weekend built around doing good while gaming.

We are recruiting GMs and HQ volunteers to help Keep‑A‑Con continue to grow and support the charity mission. Even one or two slots of GMing or HQ help makes a difference.

Richmond Open – Richmond, VA

Dates: May 1–3, 2026
Location: Richmond, VA
Info / Registration: https://tabletop.events/conventions/richmond-open-2026

Richmond Open brings together tabletop gamers from across the region for a weekend of organized play and open gaming. We are looking for GMs to run Society scenarios and HQ volunteers to help with check‑in, slot coordination, and general logistics so the schedule runs smoothly.

This is a great opportunity for newer GMs or volunteers to get convention experience in a supportive environment.

ConCarolinas – Charlotte, NC

Dates: May 29–31, 2026
Location: Charlotte, NC
Info: https://concarolinas.org/

ConCarolinas is a multi‑genre convention with a strong gaming and fandom presence, drawing attendees from across the Carolinas and beyond. To give attendees plenty of chances to roll dice, we need GMs for Pathfinder and Starfinder Society and HQ volunteers to help manage scheduling, seating, and player questions.

If you are in or near Charlotte, this is an excellent opportunity to support the local lodge and reach a wide audience of potential new players.

DragonCon – Atlanta, GA

Dates: September 3–7, 2026
Location: Downtown Atlanta, GA
Info: https://www.dragoncon.org

DragonCon is one of the largest conventions in our region, and the Paizo Organized Play presence involves many tables, multiple days, and a lot of moving parts. We will need a strong team of experienced GMs and HQ/operations volunteers to support everything from slot management and check‑in to mentoring newer GMs.

If you have ever thought about volunteering at a large show, this is your chance to be part of a big, well‑coordinated team.

How to Volunteer

If you are interested in helping at any of these events—whether as a GM, HQ staff, or in another support role—please reach out to the Appalachian RVC or your local Venture‑Officer.

You can email the Appalachian RVC directly at:
rvcapparegionop@gmail.com

When you contact us, please let us know:

  • Which event(s) you are available for
  • Whether you prefer GMing, HQ/administrative work, or “wherever needed”
  • Any system or scenario preferences you have

We will work with you and the local VO team to match you to slots that fit your schedule and comfort level, and we will make sure you have what you need to succeed at the table.

Even a small commitment—one or two slots across a weekend—helps us put more games in front of players and keep our community growing.
